Many government employees are going through their third round of no pay in the past 5 months due to a partial government shutdown that has been going on since February 14th, 2026.

All of these shutdowns have been no joke for these employees, and it's really hitting some people hard.

TSA employees are some of those who aren't getting paid yet again, and that's why MSP is taking donations to help TSA agents who need help right now.

Recent Government Shutdowns

In October 1st to November 12th, 2025 was the first time in the recent past that employees had to go without pay because of a government shutdown. That shutdown was the longest in history, lasting a total of 43 days.

Just a couple of months later, in January, a shutdown happened again, but this one only lasted 4 days.

And now we're in a partial government shutdown that's been going on since February 14th, 2026.

How to Help Minnesota TSA Agents During Government Shutdown

All of these times that TSA agents have gone without pay has seriously taken it's toll. If you'd like to help, MSP is collecting donations at both Terminal 1 and Terminal 2.

They're looking for un-opened, non-perishable food items, personal care items, and household supplies. No cash or gift card donations will be accepted, only physical items.

Donations can be dropped off at the departures level information booth in Terminal 1 between 5 AM and 7 PM and at the ground transportation information booth in Terminal 2 between 7 AM and 7 PM.
