Hopkins, MN (MinnesotaNow)- The occupant of a vehicle perished after it started on fire in the Twin Cities over the weekend.

That’s according to a news release issued by the Hopkins Police Department. So far limited details are available.

Vehicle Occupant Dies in Fire Caused by Falling Utility Pole in Hopkins

The deadly incident occurred in the 300 block of Blake Road North in Hopkins. Police say a utility pole fell onto a vehicle.

The falling pole caused the vehicle to start on fire, leading to the death of the vehicle’s occupant, police say.

The name of the deceased person is set to be released by the Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Hopkins police say the deadly incident is under investigation.
