The week after Jon Pardi and his wife Summer welcomed their second child — a daughter named Sienna Grace — Summer hopped on Instagram Stories to share her birth story.

During her story on Wednesday (July 24), Summer said that that day was technically Sienna's due date, but that the baby had showed up "eight or nine days early." She went on to explain that she had had a feeling her daughter would be born a little early, and in fact, she had an induction scheduled for July 17 so that her husband could be there to witness his daughter's birth.

"Because Jon had shows starting the night of the 17th for five nights straight, and I didn't wanna have to have him cancel a show and risk missing her birth if she came between the 17th and 24th," Summer explains. "I know so many of you guys who have been to his shows over the last week were so grateful that he was still able to perform and very appreciative for ... me letting him go."

The couple knew timing was going to be tight, because they couldn't schedule an elective induction before Summer's 39th week of pregnancy.

"I had asked my doctor if I could be induced on the 16th because I was really hoping to have at least 24 hours of Jon with her, assuming that she came out on time," the singer's wife recalls, but says that "legally," her medical team couldn't induce her before she hit 39 weeks unless she had "a medical reason for it."

Fortunately, little Sienna seemed determined to see her dad before he went off on that run of shows. Summer says she started noticing contractions on Monday (July 15).

"By 11PM, they were timed to where it was like, a minute long every five minutes, and then some in between," she says.

Summer was admitted to the hospital shortly thereafter, and by 4AM, she was dilated to about five or six centimeters.

"And I had her at 11:47, in two pushes," she continues. "Presley was about five [pushes] and Sienna was two."

"Everything worked out perfect," the singer's wife says, in terms of giving birth before Pardi had to leave for his shows. She also credits "a lot of pelvic floor workout stuff" to how quickly and smoothly Sienna was born.

Since Sienna's birth, Summer has been generous with baby photos and sharing snapshots into life as a family of four. Most recently, she shared a carousel of images that spotlight the newborn as well as the couple's older daughter Presley, who turned one in February.
