'Tis the season for awe-inspiring autumn beauty.

If you're looking to get out and enjoy some of the country's best fall colors destinations, Wisconsin has countless options. Anyone who lives in the Badger State or who has visited in the fall knows there is a lot of beauty to enjoy!

While I'm partial to places like the hillside town of Bayfield on the shores of Lake Superior or the Dells Mill east of Eau Claire for picturesque fall scenes, everyone has their own favorite spot (or a few) to choose from!

If you're starting from scratch or looking for a new spot, though, I have a couple of recommendations based on hard data.

The team from Stacker (via The FW) compiled visitor reviews and other data to identify the 50 best small towns in the United States for taking in the fall foliage.

Of that list of 50 small towns, three spots in Wisconsin made the list! I'll admit, I am surprised there aren't a few more. I'm also surprised that neighboring Minnesota (of which I am a resident) had none that made the list!

Shock aside, I certainly can't argue with the three Wisconsin towns that did make the list. I've only been to one of them, but from what I've seen and heard, they all deserve a spot on the list.

Not only did they make the list, but these three Wisconsin towns all made it into the top 20! Here's a look at all of the top 50 spots so you can plan out your autumn adventure!
