A mystery in Wisconsin has prompted authorities asking for information about some items that were found with" substantial amount of blood on them."

According to the Dunn County Sheriff's Office, they recovered what they call "suspicious items" on Wisconsin State Highway 40 near the Whitetail Golf Course in the Township of Colfax, which is about 30 minutes northwest of Eau Claire.

The bloody items were discovered on Sunday, January 21 at around 6 PM, the Dunn County Sheriff's Office says that they are unsure if the items were purposely dumped there or if the items fell out of a moving vehicle.

The Sheriff's Office is asking the public for any information about any suspicious vehicles that may have been in the area or any odd observations that anyone might have seen around the area during that timeframe.

Authorities say that they are in the process of preserving any video taken from home or business security cameras in the area of any vehicles traveling on STH 40 that may seem suspicious.

Anyone with information is asked to call all 715-232-1348 or submit any tips anonymously using the Dunn County Sheriff's Crime Stoppers website here, or tips can be submitted on the P3 Mobile Tips app.

It seems the items found have led authorities to suspect a violent incident, prompting them to seek further information to eliminate this possibility. One would expect that the authorities could determine whether these items were related to hunting or commercial activities. However, the level of suspicion is high enough to merit additional investigation by the police.
