LOOK: Listener-Submitted Storm Photos From Around The Northland
Wednesday was pretty bumpy in some places across the Northland, as severe storms ripped through the region.
Numerous reports of hail between 2 and nearly 3 inches in diameter were among the most notable reports across the Northland.
The National Weather Service received reports from the Iron Range to south of the Twin Ports area, though the immediate Twin Ports area did seem to get spared by the worst of the storms moving through the region.
Some of the biggest hail reports in the region include:
Marble, MN: 2.75 inches
Chisholm, MN: 2.5 inches
Backus, MN: 2.5 inches
Finlayson, MN: 2.5 inches
Kelly Lake, MN: 2 inches
Crosslake, MN: 2 inches
Taconite, MN: 2 inches
While that's plenty big, thankfully it didn't quite reach the 3+ inch hail that was initially in the forecast.
A photo that has gone viral regionally shows smaller-sized hail looking like snow in the parking lot of the Walmart in Mountain Iron up on the Iron Range. Several other reports of a thick coating of small hail have been reported elsewhere around the region, too.
The worst of the destruction from Wednesday's storms was in North Central Minnesota, with suspected tornado damage and confirmed tornado damage being seen in places like Crosslake and in the Crosby and Aitkin areas.

Tornado warnings were also issued near Cromwell and in the far reaches of the Minnesota Arrowhead, though reports so far seem to be most prevalent in the aforementioned storms that moved from the Crosslake area through the Aitkin area.
Here's a look at what listeners saw during and after Wednesday's storms - including menacing clouds, hail, storm damage, and even some rainbows and storm cloud sunset photos.
