New Local Coffee Destination Opening Soon In The Twin Ports

Coffee lovers will soon have a unique new option to grab a cup of that sweet, sweet caffeinated goodness in the Twin Ports area.

Set to open soon, a mobile coffee shop called Hollow Grounds Coffee will be making its home base in the historic Winter Street Depot outside the popular pizza destination Thirsty Pagan Brewing in Superior, Wisconsin. Anticipation is growing with a grand opening coming very soon.

The business will operate out of a sweet silver trailer in the parking lot of Thirsty Pagan, parked right near the entrance to the building to the old train station-turned-food and beer destination.

The business started promoting itself on social media earlier this spring, declaring a mission "to provide the community with exceptional coffee with the highest quality brews and friendly service".

What will be on the menu at Hollow Grounds?

The owners shared a few weeks ago that they will be serving locally roasted Alakef Coffee from across the bridge in Duluth.

While coffee "strong enough to wake the dead" will be at the center of their mobile coffee shop business, they say they will also offer a number of beverage options for those who aren't all that into coffee.

The owner recently shared the menu they will offer when they open, which features about 30 beverages that span the spectrum of hot and cold, coffee and non-coffee. Mochas, lattes, and some teas will be part of their offering.

Their "Signature Picks" look pretty interesting, with some unique and amazing-looking options like an Almond Joy Latte, S'mores Latte, Irish Mist Magic Latte with English toffee and Irish Cream, and a Banana Split Latte.

Some of their non-coffee options include classics like hot chocolate, steamers, and London Fog, along with Italian sodas. You can see their full menu here.

When does Hollow Grounds open and what will their hours be?

Hollow Grounds says on their Facebook page that they will be opening for business to the public at 7 am on Saturday, May 25, staying open until 5 pm.

Their official grand opening celebration will be on June 1 from 7 am to 5 pm.

Their regular hours once they open will be:

• Monday: 5:30 am - 3:00 pm
• Tuesday: Closed
• Wednesday: 5:30 am - 3:00 pm
• Thursday: Closed
• Friday: 5:30 am - 3:00 pm
• Saturday: 7:00 am - 3:00 pm
• Sunday: Closed
