New Owners Of A + Dubs In Duluth Announce 2026 Closing Date
After a couple of years of being closed, Duluth's seasonal drive-in restaurant A & Dubs reopened in mid-June.
The eatery did not open in the 2024 and 2025 summer seasons as one of the owners of this family-owned business dealt with some serious health issues.
Looking for a new owner for the business, Syl and Sandy Hantz put the restaurant on the market in 2024. This spring, it was announced that new owners would be taking over the seasonal business.
After a busy 2026 season, the new owners of A & Dubs announced that their season is 'unfortunately' coming to an end.

In a social media post, the new owners said they've "been having so much fun serving you" that they don't want the season to end. They admit that "Mother Nature tells us otherwise, sadly."
With that, the end of the first season for A & Dubs' new owners is coming next week. Their final day serving up classic drive-in menu items like their burgers and shakes will be Saturday, October 17.
As the days have gotten shorter this fall, A & Dubs did recently pivot to shorter days as well. Last week, they moved to closing at 7 pm, an hour earlier than their normal summer hours.
That means if you want to grab some food from A & Dubs before they close for the winter, you'll be able to do so from 11 am until 7 pm Tuesdays-Saturdays.

This is one of the last of the Twin Ports area's popular seasonal businesses to close. The Portland Malt Shoppe in Duluth and Gordy's Hi-Hat in Cloquet have already closed for the 2026 season.
Fall is definitely here, and winter is on the way!
