Yes, Halloween and spooky season is technically months away. However, that's not stopping one haunted restaurant from reopening very soon in Minnesota.

Have You Heard Of Forepaugh's Restaurant?

This hot spot is known for its beautiful decor filled with antiques and delicious food. It's also known as one of the most haunted places in the entire state.

Located in St. Paul, the restaurant closed in 2019 after the death of its lead chef after decades in business. Now, it is being renovated and is set to reopen this summer if all goes as planned.

If you are into all things haunted, you already know about Forepaugh's and the history behind the restaurant. First of all, it's located inside an old Victorian mansion, that is beautiful but yes, even looks haunted.

Don't believe me just yet? House Beautiful Magazine named it the most haunted house in Minnesota just last year! That's saying a lot, since there are many famous haunted places in the Land Of 10,000 Lakes.

What Makes Forepaugh's So Haunted?

Legend says that this restaurant is haunted by the ghost of a young girl named Molly, who worked in the mansion as a maid. She is said to have committed suicide inside the house after her affair with the homeowner, Joseph Lybrandt Forepaugh, became public.

Historical documents say Joseph also ended his life, some reporting he died right after Molly and others reporting it happened later in his life. Whatever the case may be, the two are both said to haunt each floor of the home, whether open as a restaurant or not.

Keep Your Eyes Peeled!

This former couple has been spotted all over the mansion by people who have visited the restaurant before it closed. There are too many stories about this place being haunted to share in one article but some of my favorites? Staff turning off all the lights for the night, going to the parking lot and realizing one light on the top floor is on again.

One former staff member said some water glasses started shaking when a customer mentioned the restaurant was haunted, and that the whole staff used to 'see and hear' things every single day.

Opening Soon

I never went when it was open but it has always been on my bucket list so I am excited! The restaurant will be renovated and have a new menu, with a tentative opening date set for sometime this summer.

It's located at 276 Exchange Street in St. Paul. This restaurant sounds so good, it's scary.
