Here’s A First Look At The Giant Trolls In Minnesota
Thomas Dambo is an international recycle artist who turns trash into giant trolls around the world. He's done over 130 sculptures in his career and now he's putting some in secret locations in the woods of Minnesota.
Dambo posts episodes of Trash Talk on his YouTube channel. This is where he shows behind the scenes what it takes to build these sculptures. He's enlisting the help of 300 volunteers to make these and also 500 birdhouses.
The trolls will be in the Detroit Lakes area. The Detroit Lake Project 412 hired Dambo to come and make the artwork. They hope it will bring joy and wonder to residents and tourists. They expect the artwork to bring in people from the region and enjoy the Detroit Lakes area.

Detroit Lakes will be home now to the tallest troll he's ever built. Long Leif is a 36-foot-tall troll.
The height makes it a challenge to work on. Dambo and his crew need to wear hard hats in case things fall. During this episode, you can see the worry on his face because the tall troll was swaying.
He said that in the over 130 sculptures they have built, they've never missed a deadline. They work through all kinds of bad weather including wind, rain, and snow.
The first video of his Minnesota builds is available on his YouTube Channel. He plans on the next episode to show them searching for a secret location for his next special troll.
