First Ever Blood Drive To Take Place At Fairlawn Mansion
The Superior Public Museums and Memorial Blood Centers are hosting the first ever blood drive at Fairlawn Mansion. Memorial Blood Centers will be at the mansion on August 7th, taking blood donations from 10am-5pm.
You can schedule your appointment on the Memorial Blood Center's website ahead of time. The bus will be located in the parking lot of the Fairlawn Mansion. Anyone who donates blood will receive a 15% off coupon to use at the Fairlawn's gift shop, and they will also receive a free Memorial Blood Center t-shirt. Fairlawn Mansion is a part of Superior Public Museums which also includes the Richard I. Bong Heritage Center, SS Meteor, and Firehouse & Police Museum. The Fairlawn Mansion is located at 906 E 2nd St #3245, Superior, Wisconsin.
There is a shortage of blood donations due to COVID-19. In fact, on the Memorial Blood Center's website they say they are dangerously low on donations. Since the beginning of COVID-19 there has been a shortage of donors. This is a way you can do your part to help others in need. They encourage anyone that meets the criteria and is feeling well to donate blood.
Generally, in order to donate blood you must be 16 years or older, weigh at least 110 pounds, and be in generally good health. Blood donations typically only take 10 minutes, and then you rest for a little while before you leave. It's not a lengthy process, and it can save lives.
