After a part of the ceiling at First Avenue collapsed last week, forcing the evacuation of the concert crowd and the closing of the venue, there was still hope that the damage could be quickly repaired.  That does not seem to be the case.

StarTribune.com is reporting that a decision was made Wednesday to replace the entire ceiling in the club’s main room instead of just fixing the 30-foot section that fell.  This is mainly because the cause of that collapse could not be identified so replacing everything is the safest way to go.

Until the work is complete, scheduled concerts will be moved to the State, when available.
