Farmers’ Almanac Predicts 2020 – 2021 Winter Season For MN, WI
Oh boy. It may be a rough winter ahead for the 2020 - 2021 winter season. At least it will be according to the Farmers' Almanac.
The Farmers' Almanac released predictions for the winter ahead and it seems a bit brutal for the midwest, including Minnesota and Wisconsin. In fact, the managing editor of the publications says the following about the 2020 - 2021 winter season as a whole:
Based on our time-tested weather formula, the forecast for the upcoming winter looks a lot different from last year, quite divided with some very intense cold snaps and snowfall,”
Oh boy! I guess we better start preparing for this scenario now.
As for what the midwest can expect, the Farmers' Almanac says to prepare for a "cold winter with normal to below normal temperatures." They also predict "above normal snowfall" for our region, too.
The Farmers' Almanac did not go into details about when we can expect our first major snowfall in Minnesota or Wisconsin or just how cold it is going to get. To be honest, this is probably for the best. We don't want to panic just yet. Ha!
The Farmers' Almanac is not to be confused with the Old Farmer's Almanac. The Farmers' Almanac makes predictions based on a formula they have been using since 1818. The formula looks at mathematics and astronomy.
As for the Old Farmer's Almanac, they are predicting a "light" winter without any periods of brutal cold. This differs from what the Farmers' Almanac is predicting. They do agree on one thing though: we can expect above-normal snowfall for our region this winter.
