The Famous Tommy Bartlett Water Show has been canceled for the Summer of 2020 due to Wisconsin’s “Safer at Home” order due to the COVID-19 Pandemic. The water ski, air and stage show has been a part of the attractions at The Wisconsin Dells for 68 years. People from all over the country flock to the Dells every Summer and this show is a main attraction.

The Tommy Bartlett Water show was scheduled to start on Friday, May 22 of Memorial Day weekend but with most businesses shutdown statewide through May 26 and the unknown of large crowds being able to gather together everyone involved decided it would be better to cancel the season all together.

FOX6NOW.COM reported that Tom Diehl, president and co-owner of the Tommy Bartlett Show issued the following statement: “This is a very difficult decision for us to make, but having a little more than a 100-day window in which to host our Shows, leaves us with limited options to proceed.”

The financial loss of canceling a whole entire season is devastating to this family run business. Besides all the vendors that they won't be needing they had to inform their 115 employees that they did not have any work for them for the Summer.

I remember as a kid going to see these shows and it was the highlight of our trip! Sadly this will be the case for businesses all around the country this Summer that have just the seasonal time frame to get things up and running. Despite having to cancel this season the family remains optimistic that the shows will be able to return next summer.
