North Shore Photography Hot-Spot Destroyed in Winter Storm
A popular spot for photographers on the North Shore met its match with winter storm Ezekiel. This sea stack was actually once the Tettegouche arch, but the arch fell back in 2010 leaving only a 20 foot high stack. After thousands of years of wear and tear from the waves and wind of Lake Superior, the stack no longer stands.
The highly photographed sea stack at Tettegouche State Park collapsed after the arrival of the storm right into Lake Superior. News of the collapse came Saturday November 30th, from Jim Bischoff a park specialist. It isn't clear when this stack fell, but being that it is a photography hot spot, it had to have been very recent to the finding.
Central Minnesota photographer, Matthew Breiter shared on Facebook that he loved photographing it while he was at the park, along with a cool winter shot of the sea stack featured above.
