Duluth Parks & Rec & Fire Department Hosting Second Pop-Up Splash Pad Event This Month
The City of Duluth Parks and Recreation Department has partnered with the Duluth Fire Department for a fun way for kids and their families to beat the summer heat!
They've launched a series of Pop-Up Splash Pad Events that will take place at three Duluth neighborhood parks through this summer.
At each event, attendees can run through the spray of a fire hose, courtesy of the Duluth Fire Department. Families are also invited to participate in a variety of water games and other fun challenges. If you've ever wondered what the water temp is when shot through a fire hose, this is your opportunity!
Even, better all three of these events events are free and open to all ages.
The first Pop-Up Splash Pad Event took place last Friday at Keene Creek Park, located at Bristol Street and 63rd Avenue West and those in attendance had a lot of fun.
If you missed that one, there are still two opportunities for free family fun and the next one is coming up yet this month.
Mark your calendar for Friday, July 29 as the second Pop-Up Splash Pad Event is coming to Harrison Park, which is located at 3002 West 3rd Street. As is the case with all three events, the event at Harrison Park will run from 3:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.
As you fill out your summer calendar, keep in mind the final Pop-Up Splash Pad Event of 2022 is scheduled for Friday, August 12 at Riverside Park, located at 55 Cato Avenue.
This a pilot program and with all the fun both families and the Duluth Fire Department have doing these events, I'm betting, and hoping, that they continue in the future.
