The North Shore Scenic Railroad Has a New Summer Experience

Ribs and railroads? That's a combination I can get behind. The North Shore Scenic Railroad has teamed up with Famous Dave's BBQ for special "Summer BBQ In The Skyview" excursions.

Summer BBQ In The Skyview At North Shore Scenic Railroad

The 2.5-hour ride leaves the depot, travels up the North Shore, and ultimately ends back at the depot. The dinner is served in the Skyview domecar. Tickets cost $70 adult, $70 per child, and kids 2 and under are free in the pizza section of the train.

There's a limited number of seats available, so make sure to buy your tickets ahead of time and make your reservations. It's available on Fridays and Saturdays now through July 25, 2026.

Famous Dave's BBQ Being Served

The ticket comes with first-class seating in the Skyview Domecar. The dinner includes Famous Dave's BBQ Ribs, chicken, beans, coleslaw, and cornbread. There's dessert too! Enjoy a yummy bread pudding for something sweet after your meal.

There is also a cash bar available.

Perfect For A Double Date Or Meeting Someone New

The Skyview Dome car has tables of 4, so it's perfect for a double date. If you purchase only two tickets, you may be seated with other guests.

The Route For Summer BBQ In The Skyview

The train leaves from the St. Louis County Depot at 5:30 PM. It travels up the North Shore about 17 miles to a turnaround point up the North Shore. Enjoy views of Duluth landmarks and stunning scenes from Lake Superior.
