Duluth Apartments Get Overhaul, Re-Dedication Scheduled
The Gateway Tower Apartments have been renovated to the tune of $18.5 million dollars. One Roof Community Housing and Center City Housing want you to celebrate!
There will be an event in honor of the completion of the 40-year-old residential building. The location is great, standing at the western entrance of downtown Duluth.
The project took just under one year to complete. It began in December of last year and was finished last month. The renovation was designed by LHB of Duluth with Frerichs Construction of St. Paul completing the work project.
The renovation includes a new heating and sprinkler system, elevator upgrades, energy-efficient windows and siding and a complete renovation inside the apartments themselves.
Several partners took part in the project, including the City of Duluth, the City of Duluth and St. Louis County Housing and Redevelopment Authority's, Local Initiatives Support Corporation, Minnesota Housing and the Greater Minnesota Housing Fund.
If you want to see the renovations yourself, head on out there Wednesday, November 15th. You are welcome to visit between 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
The Gateway Apartments are located at 600 West Superior Street in Duluth. The re-dedication will be held in the Community Room.
