Did You Know You Have Access To MN Bridge Inspection Reports?
I saw an article today in the Duluth News Tribune about the possibility of replacing the Blatnik Bridge within the next 10-15 years. It's near the end of it's life. As you probably have noticed, every year there are bridge inspections. After the I-35 bridge collapsed nearly a decade ago, bridge strength and safety has been a big deal for MNDOT. I learned today, that you can actually look up the bridge inspection reports!
You can see when the last inspection took place, whether or not there were deficiencies, where the cracks were on the bridge, etc.
It takes a bit of workaround to enter in the correct information, but as long as you enter in the highway route number you should be able to find the bridge you are looking for. Check out the link.
