Did You Know This Television Star Is Actually From Minnesota?

Talent really does come from Minnesota! I discovered over the weekend that there is a popular television star that is from right here in the Land of 10,000 Lakes.

You may recognize Peter Krause from the photo or from one of many different television shows he has starred in. He has been in so many different projects over the years and has had major success.

He has had starring roles in several shows, including Sports Night, Six Feet Under, Parenthood, The Catch and more. For his role in Six Feet Under, he gained critical acclaim, earning several nominations for The Primetime Emmys, the Golden Globes and the Screen Actors Guild Awards.

Unfortunately, I am late to the party and only know him as Bobby Nash in the show I started binge watching recently! I started 9-1-1 on FOX after hearing about it all the time. It seems to be a big hit and because I wanted to start a new show, I chose this one as it looked like an easy watch.

He made his debut in the show in 2018, when the show itself premiered on FOX. He plays a fire captain who has a mysterious backstory. I won't give away any spoilers in case you haven't watched and want to. Eventually, we learn about his past and grow to love him as one of the main characters.

I knew I recognized him from somewhere when I started watching but couldn't put my finger on it. I did some research and when I did, I learned he is from right here in Minnesota! Given how many high-profile roles he has had in his career, I am surprised this fact isn't super well-known around here.

He was born in Alexandria, Minnesota, according to his IMDb page. He was then raised in Roseville, Minnesota, which is about two hours from Duluth. In 1987, he graduated from Gustavus Adolphus College, which is in St. Peter, Minnesota.

That is a lot of Minnesota connection if you ask me! It is unclear when exactly he moved out of the state to pursue acting but his first role was in 1987, which is when he graduated college, so he probably scored a job right away!

I love when celebrities have Minnesota connections! It is more common than you would think. First of all, we have had a few leads of The Bachelorette from right here in Minnesota. One was the lead a few years back. Becca Kufrin still posts from Minnesota from time to time and now hosts a podcast about the franchise, along with being a social media influencer. The next lead of the show is also from Minnesota!

Big name celebrities also call Minnesota home - or used to! Chris Pratt is a great example of this. He was born and raised in Virginia. Iconic actress Jessica Lange is actually from the Northland and speaks openly about how much she loves the area. Jessica Biel, Josh Hartnett and Ian Anthony Dale are also from Minnesota.

Now, I am happy I know that Peter Krause is on the list! If you haven't watched 9-1-1 yet, you definitely should. It is really entertaining. You can enjoy it even more knowing there is a Minnesota connection.
