Did Punxsutawney Phil See His Shadow On Groundhog Day?

Punxsutawney Phil came out and made his prediction, so for the Northland, does that mean anything?

According to lore, when Phil sees his shadow and we have 6 more weeks of winter if he comes out and doesn't see his shadow we have an early spring. For us, in the northland, we usually get a long winter anyway. The record according to stormfax is 104 times he has seen his shadow, 20 times not seeing a shadow, and 9 times there was no record.

This year stormfax says that Phil came out at 7:26 am and did not see his shadow, which means, and early spring. Punxsutawney PA even had a live feed for everyone to see.  There is more to the celebration than just Phill coming out and seeing or not seeing his shadow. There are wine tasting events and a whole weekend of celebrations.

By the way, this is the first year that Groundhog Day and the Super Bowl were held on the same day.
