David’s Bridal Might Close All Minnesota Stores, Including Duluth
This is a sign of the times. David's Bridal stores across the state of Minnesota may be closing for good. There is a location in Duluth near Best Buy and Home Goods and it could be impacted by the possible closures this year.
News broke that David's Bridal filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy on Monday (April 17th) and is currently looking for someone to buy the company. If the company does not find a buyer, locations all across the country will close, including each Minnesota location.
Do not panic about the Duluth location just yet. Reports say that the stores will remain open until further notice, you can still shop online and the stores are still doing business as usual. This means you can still buy from the store, return, exchange, etc.
There are hundreds of David's Bridal stores across the country, including five in Minnesota. This number includes the Duluth location, with other stores in Richfield, Maple Grove, Rochester and Oakdale. Duluth is the only location in the Northland, with six Wisconsin locations, including Appleton, Green Bay, Madison and Eau Claire.
If you have purchased anything from the David's Bridal location in Duluth or plan to, the store is open for business as usual. There is a post on their Facebook page addressing the possible closure, writing the following:
We intend to fulfill orders without disruption or delay, and customers should not expect to see any change in service. We expect dresses will arrive on time and bridal appointments will not be impacted.
If you have any immediate questions about an order, you can still stop by and talk to an employee in person or give the store location a call at 218-722-5420. The store is located at 5115 Burning Tree Road.
The company cites business post-pandemic and a drop in marriages for the reason behind their financial issues. Over the course of the next few months, the company will lay off thousands of workers. Some layoffs have already started. As always, we will keep you updated.
