Dalvin Cook to Skip Season Finale After Father Unexpectedly Dies
Vikings star RB Dalvin Cook is mourning the unexpected loss of his father and will not play in the final game of the season against the Lions.
Cook's father, James, died yesterday and according to the team, Dalvin flew back to Miami to be with his family during this difficult time. James was only 46.
Tom Pelissero from NFL Network said that Cook wanted to play, but decided "it was best to be back home with his younger siblings."
Cook will end the season with 1,557 rushing yards, which is the third-most in franchise history and career-best for Cook. Cook's 1,918 scrimmage yards are the most in the NFL in 2020 and rank second in Vikings history for a single season. Cook was also selected to back-to-back Pro Bowl appearances.
The 6-9 Vikings will wrap up this lackluster season in Detroit playing the 5-10 Lions at Noon on Sunday. You can catch all the game action, plus pre and post-game shows on The Northland Fan 106.5.
