I split a lot of wood up at the hunting shack, and it can be a big job.  So when I see a new axe come out, I take a look and see if it's something I would be interested in.  This cross bladed axe I saw on YouTube looks like the coolest thing since sliced bread.

I'd like to see him split another half a dozen logs at least.  Plus the size of the head would make it be more comparable to a maul sledge.  It's heavier than a traditional axe.

Also, depending on the species of tree you are splitting and how dry or wet the wood is can play a huge factor in how well it splits.  This seems to be optimum splitting wood.  But to be fair, it does work nicely with that one log he split.

Has anyone else tried this or something like it?
