City Of Superior Plans Annual Stormwater Report Event February 11

The City of Superior has invested a large amount of funds and resources into the battle to reduce stormwater pollution and runoff.  Once a year, the Environmental Services Division releases an Annual Report, detailing the processes and successes it went through during the preceding year; tied to this report is a public meeting where the details are released to the public and questions and comments are invited.

This years event will happen on Thursday, February 11 at 5:00 PM.  Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, things will look a little different as the meeting goes virtual - with a link to attend. However, they've also added a perk:  all attendees will be entered to win a free compost bin.

Everyone is invited to take part in the session and attendance is absolutely free.  During the virtual public meeting, you'll learn how the City of Superior has addressed stormwater pollution during the past year, you'll learn and get details on how you can get involved in the process, ask questions, make suggestions, and add comments.

On the website, the City of Superior lists the mission of the Environmental Services Division and it's task:

"The Long-Term Stormwater Management requirement of the City of Superior's WI DNR Stormwater permit seeks to reduce the amount of post construction stormwater and associated pollutants reaching our waterways. This requirement regulates post construction discharges off construction sites of one acre or more of disturbed land. Additionally, the city requires construction sites with less than one acre of land disturbing activity that will result in the addition of 20,000 square feet or more of impervious area, to have a permit. If the site does not meet either of these requirements it will require a small site land disturbing activity (LDA) permit."
