City Of Duluth Breaks Two Weather Records In October 2020
We wouldn't expect anything less in 2020: October was a record-breaking month for a few different reasons!
If you live in the Northland, you already know winter seemed to have come early this year. We saw several rounds of moderate snowfall in the Duluth area and a bunch of really cold days. In the end, it turns out that we were even snowier and colder than you may have thought.
According to WDIO meteorologist Brandon Weathers, we saw the fifth coldest October on record and the second snowiest October on record.
He shared the news on his Facebook page Monday (November 2nd), just in time for us to start fresh in a new month. Hopefully, November will bring less of a rollercoaster than October.
I guess 2020 will be a year to remember for many different reasons. The good news is that we are looking at a warmup to kick off the new month. I like to think of it as the universe making up for the rough winter-like October we saw. The National Weather Service of the Twin Cities says we can expect warmer weather to continue through November 8th.
The Old Farmer's Almanac is also predicting a pretty mild November with light snow at times and average temperatures. According to their predictions, things will take a turn near the end of the month when winter will hit us full force with heavy snow and cold temperatures. At least that is normal for the month of November in the Northland. Ha!
