City Of Cloquet Hiring Summer Seasonal Maintenance Positions

If you're looking for summer seasonal work, the City Of Cloquet is currently accepting applications for a variety of positions.

The positions are with Cloquet's Street/Parks and Utility Departments.  All applicants must meet the minimum requirements which include being at least 18 years old and having a high school diploma or equivalent with six months’ work experience.

Duties and responsibilities include:

Streets/Parks  

• Performs general grounds maintenance and assists with landscaping duties including mowing grass, weed whipping, irrigation system repair, and maintains trees and shrubbery with hand and power equipment
• Prepares sites for sodding and assists in sodding; limbs trees and shrubs, brushes areas, weeds flower beds and planting areas, waters trees, shrubs and flower beds, and mulches similar areas as necessary
• Picks up and removes trash from Cloquet Avenue, Highway 33, parks, campground, public buildings and grounds. Empties other trash containers in public areas
• Maintains and marks ball playing fields
• Performs cleanup and maintenance of catch basins and assists with drainage repairs
• Performs blacktop and other repairs on roads, shoulders, and ditch areas
• Cleans and/or assists with the repair of City sidewalks and trails
• Washes and cleans equipment and vehicles
• Performs all other duties as apparent or assigned within this department or other work divisions

Utilities  

• Performs manual work in maintenance of water, sanitary sewer and storm sewer utility systems
• Performs heavy manual work at times under adverse conditions
• Performs cleanup and maintenance of catch basins
• Replaces culverts and performs sidewalk, curb, and gutter repairs related to utility improvement projects
• Assists with sanitary sewer main and water main repairs
• Fire hydrant flushing, repair and painting
• Read water meters
• Washes and cleans equipment and vehicles
• Performs all other duties as apparent or assigned

The pay rates for the available positions range from $10.50 to $15.00 per hour.
