With our Baconpalooza coming up I had bacon on the brain.  I thought I would share a easy DIY bacon recipe with you that looks like it was hard to make, but you'll be surprised.  Because of my ethnicity, teriyaki sauce is used in my kitchen often and compliments the bacon while enjoying the crisp water chestnut.  Plus, step by step instructions in my tutorial.  Why wouldn't you make it!

Minimal ingredients, minimal time and LOTS of flavor!  Facebook or email me if you try the recipe, I'd love to know what you, your family and friends thought about them.

WHAT YOU NEED:

  • 1 jar of Crosse & Blackwell Ham Glaze
  • 2 - 8 oz cans of whole water chestnuts, drained
  • 1 lb pkg of hickory smoked bacon, with bacon strips cut in half
  • 1/4 C. teriyaki sauce

MAKE THEM:

Wrap each chestnut in the halved bacon strip and secure with a toothpick.  Arrange chestnuts in a single layer in a shallow baking pan.  Broil until crispy, about 5 minutes on each side, drain.  Heat oven to 350.  Blend ham glaze with teriyaki sauce.  Transfer the pieces to a pan lined with foil and spoon glaze over the chestnuts, bake for 20 minutes or until bacon is cooked.
