Carrie Underwood to Perform on ‘The Today Show’ Summer Concert Series
Breakfast TV will get a country injection on Wednesday, Aug. 15, as Carrie Underwood is confirmed to perform on ‘The Today Show’ Summer Concert Series. It was announced this morning (July 24) and confirmed in a press release from Underwood’s reps that she will indeed perform at Rockefeller Center.
‘The Today Show’ Summer Concert Series sets usually take place on Fridays – Zac Brown Band performed a few weeks ago, while Kenny Chesney did earlier this summer. But the program’s producers have planned a full week of outdoor shows following the 2012 Summer Olympics and they’ve recruited Underwood for a hump day gig. Who needs a steaming cup of coffee when you can be woken up by Carrie Underwood’s lovely face and voice, right?
Underwood is slated to perform her hits, including her new single, ‘Blown Away.’ The single’s sales have approached a quarter of a million and it should enjoy even more of a boost once she performs for ‘The Today Show’ audience!
After her appearance, Underwood will continue to prep for her headline tour of North America. She played shows in the U.K. and Australia in June and will hit domestic shores on Sept. 14. The Blown Away tour wraps in December.
