Brett Eldredge Gets to ‘Make All the Rules’ for His First Headlining Tour
Brett Eldredge has performed with plenty of A-list stars — Keith Urban, Luke Bryan, Little Big Town and more — but this April, he'll finally embarks on his first solo headlining tour.
Riding the success of seven chart-topping singles and the self-titled No. 1 album he dropped in 2017, Eldredge is ready to be the main attraction. The Long Way Tour — which Eldredge officially launches April 5 in Garden City, Idaho — hosts the singer, along with Warner Music Group labelmate Devin Dawson and country newcomer Jillian Jaqueline as opening acts.
The tour is named after Eldredge's latest single, "The Long Way," which recently became his seventh Top 10 at country radio.
The Brett Eldredge You Know: In Front of the Camera
At a media roundtable at Rudy's Jazz Club in Nashville on Monday (Feb. 12), Eldredge addressed the shift from supporting shows for major artists to creating his very own.
"I’ve been very fortunate to be on a lot of huge tours and be the direct support guy and I wouldn’t change it for the world," he says. "I have like 45 minutes or 50 minutes on those, so I get to play my hits and then like two or three more songs. ... but my fans are so passionate about cuts on the album that they never get to hear live or I don’t get to talk and tell my story as much as I’d love to in a 45 or 50 minute set."
However, with his headlining set, Eldredge not only gets more time onstage, but much more creative control .
"I’m just excited to try a lot of things I’ve never tried," Eldredge says. "I get to kind of make all the rules of how I want this story to be told. I get to build my own stage, set up how I want it and take my own time telling this story. ... I get to add tons of songs from my albums for my headline set and make it move and flow.
"My headline show is literally exactly what I imagined in my mind. We drew it up and it’s going to be very unique and probably something that I don’t think you’ll see at most tours with the whole stage set up," he says. "It’s going to be a very personal show with a lot of energy, but also a lot of sentimental moments that I live for."
