Boo At The Zoo Back At Lake Superior Zoo This October
Looking for a fun and family-friendly Halloween event to bring your kids to? You're in luck because the Lake Superior Zoo is bringing back Boo At The Zoo this year!
It has been a pretty big year for the Lake Superior Zoo! Recently, they announced a new addition: an endangered baby cotton-top tamarin monkey! It might be the cutest addition possible and the baby can often be seen clinging to his dad's back in the exhibit. Awwww!
Prior to this adorable birth, they also welcomed a new baby goral! I had never heard of a goral before one was born at the zoo but I am so glad I know what one is now because they are adorable. You can see this baby goral in its exhibit now.
They also have big plans for the future. In late August, they shared that they were opening a red panda exhibit next year! They are asking for the community's help in funding the exhibit, which will help the endangered species and provide them with the diet they need.
You can see all of these cute new baby animals - and give back to the zoo - by attending their annual, family-friendly event Boo At The Zoo. The Lake Superior Zoo is bringing it back this year for a handful of dates this October.
If you want to plan ahead, you can save a few bucks on tickets. Tickets purchased online ahead of time will be ten bucks for members and twelve bucks for non-members. If you buy tickets the day of, non-members will pay fifteen bucks admission to the event.
Boo At The Zoo will take place on three different Saturdays in October: the 15th, the 22nd and the 29th. Members will be able to attend the event for a special hour before non-members are welcome in, from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. on the days of the event. Non-members are welcome to attend from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
If you've never been to Boo At The Zoo before, it is basically a massive Halloween party for kids with cute animals everywhere you turn! Kids dress up and can trick-or-treat between the different businesses and vendors set up at the event. There will also be a special story time, costume contests, a mini pumpkin hunt, games and activities. There will also be a pumpkin patch where you can take home a pumpkin for as little as five bucks.
New this year is the Boo-tique Craft Show! If you are a crafter or know someone who is, spread the word that you can fill out an application to be a part of this special craft show on the zoo's website.
As always, there will also be food stations with kettle corn, tacos, burrito bowls, mini donuts and cubans, among others. The event is rain or shine and you can not purchase tickets for a specific day and try to switch dates. Tickets will only be valid for the date purchased.
Boo At The Zoo is always a blast! Plus, who doesn't want to eat candy while looking at all the cute animals?
