Bob Dylan Tribute Mural Revitalizes Downtown Minneapolis [VIDEO]
There are many Bob Dylan fans in the Northland. He's played in Duluth a couple of times, the most recent a foggy July day at Bayfront Festival Park. At his concert here in 1999, he made reference to being born over the hill in Duluth and hoped it was still there sending the crowd into a frenzy. His fame is world-wide and proof is in the huge mural in downtown Minneapolis.
He was born in Duluth, but raised on the Iron Range. I feel funny that the mural that pays tribute to the famous artist is in the Twin Cities. I didn't know that a muralist was an actual profession but one from Brazil has just finished the Bob Dylan mural. It's on the side of a five-story building.
You want to see it? You'll find it at 5th Street and Hennepin Avenue. While you're gazing in awe at the mural, remember that it was a $50,000 project! The content of the mural was inspired by one of Bob Dylan's songs, "The Times They Are-a-Changin".
