For those who love a great steak, nothing beats a truly exceptional steakhouse experience. That's because not only do the great ones cook the steak exactly how you ordered it, but they also have amazing sides that pair perfectly.

The steakhouse experience has been around for a long time, with steakhouses having been in business in America since the mid-19th century, with the first modern steakhouse opening in New York City in 1837. The oldest continuously operating one, the Old Homestead Steakhouse, opened in 1868.

Finding the best steakhouse in Minnesota can be a challenge, although it would be fun to try as many as you can to find your favorite. However, if you don't have the time to do that, or it's simply not in your budget, you'll be happy to know that the work has been done for you.

The pros at Tasting Table went on a mission to find what they believe to be the absolute best steakhouses in America, and one popular Minnesota location stood out.

The Best Steakhouses In America

To be considered the best, Tasting Table says it sought places that not only served highly recommended and favorably reviewed high-quality steaks, but also places that invested as much care and effort into the quality of the sides and wine list as they did into the steak.

Taking it even further, atmosphere, service, and, in some cases, longevity all needed to come together to create the perfect steakhouse experience.

The Best Steakhouse In Minnesota

In Minnesota, the winner was Manny's Steakhouse, with a downtown location at 825 S. Marquette Avenue.

They note that Manny's was not only their choice, but it has also received other recognitions for being among the best in the world.

What makes Manny's so special? They note that Manny's works with beef suppliers and oversees its own herds, built around a bull specially selected for the Manny's Heritage Beef breeding program.

According to its website, Manny's Heritage Beef uses Midwest Family farms to raise its cattle, which are corn fed for a minimum of 180 days, with a 16-month average age at harvest.

The genetically verified, genuine Black Angus beef surpasses all USDA regulations and industry certifications.

Of course, as mentioned above, a great overall steakhouse experience also includes more than just steak, and Manny's delivers there too, with "outstanding cocktails and a staff that's willing to help you choose the perfect cut of aged steak, and it's a next-level experience."

From my personal experience, I can't argue with this pick for Minnesota, although I also love Murray's Steakhouse in downtown Minneapolis for a variety of reasons. Anyone else getting hungry?
