Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders took to his Twitter account Wednesday afternoon to support striking St. Louis County snow plow drivers.

Sanders shared a tweet from Teamsters Local 320 while adding:

Snow plow drivers do important, difficult and dangerous work, leaving their families day and night in order to keep our roads safe. The members of
@IBT_320
in Duluth are fighting for benefits they deserve, and I stand with them.

Teamsters Local 320 union members officially went on strike Wednesday as snow fell across the Northland.  An even bigger snowfall is expected Friday afternoon into Saturday.

WDIO Chief Meteorologist Justin Liles believes the majority of the Northland will see 6” or more into the weekend.  A Winter Storm Watch has been issued from Friday morning through Saturday afternoon.
