Behind The Scenes And In the Radar Dome At The National Weather Service In Duluth [VIDEO]
I'm use to educating people on the difference between a watch and warning when it comes to storms in the Northland, so when a special weather statement popped up on my phone, I had questions. Not only do I get my questions answered, but Carol from the National Weather Service at 5027 Miller Trunk Hwy in Duluth took us up in the Radar Dome (the big soccer ball in the sky on 53) to check out the radar equipment!
Carol and the crew at the National Weather Service who have someone forecasting 24 hours a day, 365 days of the year, were great to work with! As you'll see in the video very informative and I got an answer to all my questions. They love to give tours to the general public you just need to call to schedule with Carol at 218.729.0651 Ext. 726. This would be great for boy and girl scout troops, a school class field trip, church youth groups or anyone who is interested in how the weather is forecast. After all, the weather affects all of us and in Duluth they say, "if you wait 10 minutes the weather will change". I guarantee the NWS staff will definitely let you know about it!
