Bass Pro Shops Opening New Location In The Duluth Area
Big news arrived Monday for outdoor enthusiasts across the Northland as a company recently named 'America’s Best Outdoor Retailer' for a 3rd consecutive year announced it will open a new retail location to serve the area.
Not only is this good news for the area, but it also solves the mystery of what would move into a large, high-profile retail space that had been vacant since October 2023.
Now that the news is official, excitement will continue to grow until it opens to the public.
Bass Pro Shops Announces New Outpost Location Is Opening In The Northland
Bass Pro Shops has been a favorite for outdoor enthusiasts since 1972. If you've never been to a Bass Pro Shops location, you'll have a great time as it's a great retail environment that features a great line of products and interactive elements not found elsewhere.
According to its July 29 announcement, Bass Pro Shops will open a new Outpost retail location in Hermantown, Minnesota, just outside of Duluth.
The location will be 4275 Haines Road in Hermantown, the previous home to Gander Mountain, and later Camping World, easily accessible from U.S. Highway 53 for people traveling through the area.
Bass Pro Shops’ newest store will be the company’s fifth in Minnesota, and the first in the northeast part of the state. The company boasts that the 70,000 square-foot Outpost retail location will expand its presence and build on Bass Pro Shops’ reputation of serving sportsmen and women of the region with "the widest selection of quality products at the best prices around, while providing genuine, friendly expert service."
The company adds that a team of talented artists and craftsmen will design the store’s localized imagery to reinforce its immersive outdoor theme.
Bass Pro Shops founder Johnny Morris says, “It’s an honor to serve the sportsmen and women in the Duluth area and help outfit them for adventures as they enjoy the rich fishing and hunting opportunities in Minnesota and throughout the region,”

This new Outpost location is expected to open in the first half of 2025.
