Yes, Someone Died In Here + Other Things Your Minnesota Realtor Wants To Tell You, But Won’t
Real estate is confusing. That's why real estate agents exist. It's a good idea to use one in most situations, especially if you're buying a home. (That's because it doesn't cost you anything to have one if you're buying in most cases.) But, everyone has seen HGTV, and everybody wants to be a Realtor until they become one. Did you know that around 80% of real estate agents quit in their first year? It's a tough gig, and the clients sometimes are the reason why.
First, a little background. I was a licensed Realtor in Minnesota and Wisconsin for several years before the pandemic. The money was good, it could be very rewarding at times, and it was also the most stressful period of my life. It's a business that's really hard to walk away from because the money can be good. And, honestly, I do believe real estate agents are worth every dollar they make because some of these transactions take years off their lives.
I know how stressful buying or selling a house is. I've been there personally and I'll admit that I was a naive first-time home-buyer that made many of these mistakes myself years ago.
I know I have a lot of former clients probably reading this, and I guarantee none of this was ever about you! Wink wink. Anyway, let's get to the list and remember this is all in fun. Good luck out there!
