LOOK: Wisconsin DNR Unveils New Stamp Design Contest Winners
Wisconsin's wild turkey, pheasant, and waterfowl stamp programs have provided opportunities for wildlife and habitat management for many years, with efforts directed toward key species.
Turkey, pheasant, and waterfowl hunters are required to purchase a species-specific stamp to legally harvest these game birds in Wisconsin. The sales of these stamps bring in hundreds of thousands of dollars annually for species management throughout the state, including habitat management, restoration, education, and research projects.
The stamps also provide local artists from around Wisconsin a cool opportunity to have their artwork featured on the wild turkey, pheasant, and waterfowl stamps. Artists submit their designs and compete to have their work featured. Recently, the 2026 winners were announced.

2026 Wisconsin Stamp Winners
The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources recently announced the winners of the 2026 Wisconsin wild turkey, pheasant, and waterfowl stamp design contest. The winning entries will have their designs featured on the next editions of each stamp.
The DNR says that many talented artists from around Wisconsin submitted artwork for judging, which took place on Saturday, August 23, at the Wisconsin Waterfowl Expo in Oshkosh.
This year's judges were Tally Hamilton, Ducks Unlimited regional biologist; Mark Kakatsch, Wisconsin Wildlife Federation vice president; and Pat Gregory, a professional decoy carver.
Winner Of The Wild Turkey Stamp Contest
Sam Timm, from Wautoma, Wisconsin, took first place in this year's wild turkey design contest.
Winner Of The Waterfowl Stamp Contest
It was a big year for Samm Timm, as he also won the waterfowl design contest.
Winner Of The Pheasant Design Contest
Caleb Metrich of Lake Tomahawk, Wisconsin, took first place in the pheasant design contest.
The DNR notes that while hunters are required to purchase stamps to harvest these game birds, anyone interested in supporting grassland, wetland, and forest management activities may purchase a stamp to support conservation in Wisconsin.

While an electronic "stamp approval" is printed on the licenses of wild turkey, pheasant, and waterfowl hunters at the time of purchase, customers will not receive an actual stamp unless they request one. To get a physical copy of a stamp, visit the DNR's Collector Stamps webpage or go to any open Service Center.
