If you hold a 2017 Minnesota fish, game or trapping license, it's about to expire so it's time to get your new 2018 license.

According to the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources, the 2017 licenses will expire on Wednesday, February 28.

You may now get your 2018 licenses wherever hunting and fishing licenses are sold across the Northland.  You can also get licenses online and by calling 1-888-665-4236.

According to the Minnesota DNR, 2018 license fees increase by $3 for a resident individual angling license, and fees also increase for other license types including deer hunting licenses, sports licenses and lifetime licenses.

Keep in mind that anyone who purchases their license online via a smartphone won’t receive a conventional paper license. Instead, they’ll receive a text message or email that serves as proof of a valid fish or game license to state conservation officers. A printed copy of the text or email also can serve as proof of a valid license.
