They started a project to replace wire ropes that raise and lower Duluth's Aerial Lift Bridge on Monday, February 1, expecting that it would take until the end of the month to finish.  They found that wasn't the case.

The crews worked diligently Mondays through Saturdays from 7 AM to 5:30 PM to get the project done ahead of schedule.  They knew the restricted one lane traffic was a pain to motorists that travel the bridge.  I happy to report the Aerial Lift Bridge is already open to two way traffic.

Thank you to the staff of both Lakehead Constructors and the City of Duluth for working extra hard in the cold temps to get the job done way ahead of schedule!

Of course, as always, the City of Duluth thanks you for your patience while the bridge was being worked on.
