A new year means new concerts to look forward to in the Northland and recently it was announced that a true American icon would pay a visit to Duluth's Bayfront Festival Park.

To date, Willie Nelson has enjoyed a seven-decade career and has earned every conceivable award as a musician while also gaining tremendous respect as an author, actor, and activist.

You'd think Nelson would be ready to very comfortably rest on his laurels, but that's just not his style. According to his bio, Willie Nelson continues to thrive as a "relevant and progressive musical force."

His bio goes on to say, in part:

In recent years, he has delivered more than a dozen new albums, released a Top 10 New York Times' bestsellers book, again headlined Farm Aid (an event he co-founded in 1985) and his annual Willie Nelson's 4th of July Picnic, been honored by the Library of Congress with their Gershwin Prize for Popular Song, received his 5th degree black belt in Gong Kwon Yu Sul, headlined the annual Luck Reunion food and music festival during SXSW, launched his cannabis companies Willie's Reserve and Willie's Remedy, and graced the covers of Rolling Stone and AARP The Magazine. Nelson started this decade by releasing four albums of newly recorded music.

  • Exclusive Willie Nelson Clear Tote
  • Exclusive Willie Nelson Tumbler

Jade Presents, who is producing the show notes that the merchandise in the premium package is subject to change.

They also recommend that concert-goers ride share to Bayfront as parking is limited. There will be concessions available to purchase for the event.

You'll also want to bring a jacket as it will likely be a chilly evening at Bayfront Festival Park. The average high temperature in Duluth in May is 56 degrees, with an average low of 40. However, the show is closer to June when the average high climbs to 66 degrees, with an average low of 49.

Chances are there will be so many feel-good vibes that night in Duluth, that whatever the weather brings, it really won't matter.
