My craft room looks like total chaos and one reason is that it's hard to get rid of anything, ANYTHING!  But, as I continue to do craft projects, I keep accumulating crafting supplies that I didn't use.  The Duluth Public Library had a great idea and turned it into an event that we can all benefit from.

In Minnesota last year they recycled holiday lights in Hinckley and Grand Marais.  Habitat for Humanity of Superior stepped up and collected your used and or defective holiday lights in the Northland and they're doing it again this year.  Do you have any you need to dispose?

The celebrating is done, the guests have gone home and you've taken down the decorations and holiday tree.  Usually, you stick it in the snowbank outside (and deal with it weeks later, but this year....most of us don't have a snowbank.  So, what should you do?  Treecycle with WLSSD!  BUT, trees only!  Wreaths, garland and other decorations should go in your trash.  They have added many more locati

It's the 44th anniversary of Earth Day!  Go green. Reduce, recycle and reuse.   When it started back in 1970, only 20 million people recognized Earth Day, now more than a billion people around the world are expected to mark the day.  Here's an idea that will help you teach your kids about Earth Day and recycling using something very familiar to them, their crayons!
