These days, it’s almost unheard of to see a celebrity photo that hasn’t been airbrushed or otherwise digitally manipulated to make the person in the picture look nearly flawless. While they may make pretty magazine covers, two researchers are proposing a ratings system to let people know exactly how much a photo has been manipulated.

The American Medical Association is taking a stand against Photoshop. For decades, photo manipulation software has been whittling the waists and thinning the thighs of celebrities and models, and the AMA says it’s caused unrealistic and unhealthy body image issues — especially among children and adolescents.

Marisa Miller was probably surprised to see this image of herself modeling Victoria's Secret "sexiest polo" with only one arm. But this is far from the first time an egregious Photoshop error has made it into a company's advertising.
