Hartley Park is significant to the region. It's not only beautiful but it is rich in history and full of diverse habitats. In order to preserve all it has to offer, Minnesota Power's Rajala Woods Initiative, the City of Duluth, and Hartley Nature Center have joined forces to plant a significant number of trees.
With the hot weather we're experiencing this week, Minnesota Power has made a request to help conserve energy. In their press release they state that the MISO electric grid that serves all customers in the upper Midwest, including central and northern Minnesota, is experiencing peak heat/peak energy use days through Saturday, July 7. The average temperature across the region will be 95 degrees.
