Superior’s Salvation Army Hopes To Step Up Donations To Reach 2014 Christmas Goal

When I have been out shopping in the Northland the past couple of weeks I've noticed several of the Salvation Army's Red Kettles in place, but stand alone, without a bell ringer.  There's no attention-getting sound or someone with a "Happy Holidays" to draw attention or entice you to drop in your change or a spare buck or two.  This may be one reason they are falling short of their 2014 Christmas goal.

The Salvation Army in Superior, WI has achieved only 15.1% of their 2014 Christmas Campaign goal so far.  They've collected $37,626 of $250,000 and that includes the $6,721 that has been donated through their iconic Red Kettles.  That leaves $212,000 left to collect.

Major David Clark, Corps Officer, states "We appreciate the generous giving of friends of The Salvation Army. Their financial support is critical to our continuing operations in Superior."

You'll see the Red Kettles in Superior through December 24, please remember to keep some money in your pockets so you can drop it in the kettle when you see them.  You can also make donations directly to The Salvation Army in Superior through the mail at The Salvation Army, PO Box 485, Superior, WI 54880, through January 15th.

Proceeds of this annual campaign help to support local services that The Salvation Army in Superior provides to the community including Christmas Food Baskets, Food Pantry, Emergency Assistance, and other Youth and Adult services.
