If you thought COVID-19 was long gone, you'd be wrong about that! It is still lingering with a new variant being reported all across the country. This variant is being called the JN.1 variant, and first started popping up in December of last year.

This is a common time of the year for people to get sick and with so many illnesses going around right now, it can be hard to differentiate which symptoms mean which illness. This particular COVID-19 strain is a bit different than its predecessor, too.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention shared an update earlier this month, stating that this is currently the most dominant strain of COVID-19. We all know the normal symptoms of COVID-19 like a sore throat, congestion, cough, fatigue and more.

So what are these two new symptoms that are being reported with this new dominant variant? According to a new report, three odd everyday things may actually be attributed to JN.1.

Symptom One: Worry

According to this new study, worrying might be a new symptom of the JN.1 variant. It may be hard to differentiate this from a normal worry you may have often or in a stressful situation. If you are worrying more than usual, this could be a symptom of the new variant.

Symptom Two: Anxiety

If you are not usually an anxious person or have no reason to be anxious at the current moment, you may also be experiencing a symptom of the JN.1 variant.

Symptom Three: Trouble Sleeping

If you don't usually have issues sleeping through the night but are struggling to do so at this moment, it could also be a symptom of the JN.1 variant. How strange.

What Now?

The good news is that the CDC says that at this time, there is 'no indication of increased severity' when it comes to this new variant. Aside from just this new variant, there are also a handful of other illnesses going around. Stay healthy out there!
