There's a new indie movie out that is titled 'Virginia Minnesota.' A lot of it was filmed in The Northland, including shots from the North Shore, Grand Marais, Duluth, and more areas.

While from what I can tell from the trailer there really doesn't seem to have much about the actual Virginia, MN in the movie, it is still nice to see a production done here in the Northland.

According to IMDB, the plot follows two young women who are go on a magical 24 hour journey.

Two young women, torn apart by a childhood tragedy, unexpectedly reunite and embark on an illuminating 24-hour journey, where they unlock memories of long-forgotten innocence and what it means to truly believe.

The film has won a bunch of awards and even more nominations in independent film groups.

It has generally positive reviews as well from critics, and is available on amazon prime for 4.99 for SD quality.
