The Minnesota State High School League (MSHL) has announced that the remainder of the 2019-2020 activities have been cancelled. This is after MN Governor Tim Walz issued an executive order to extend distance learning for the remainder of the year due to COVID-19.

In a press release the MSHL said effective immediately that all athletics and fine arts are cancelled. That includes any events in the MSHL building, including practices, tryouts, scrimmages, contests, competitions, and any post season tournament.

The board is reviewing rules, policies, and other bylaws in relation to this cancellation. They meet today April 24th, and will provide further information and guidelines in the future.

They also encourage all students, coaches, advisors, officials, and directors to follow the Stay At Home Order, and use safe practices such as social distancing.

This brings a strange end to many high school seniors who are not going to be able to play out their final high school year of sports and high school activities.
