There's a pup who needs a home and is available right now in Northern Minnesota. She's an Old English Sheepdog/Poodle mix. I recently saw her on Facebook with some stunning before and after photos of her grooming.

Animal Allies posted a message about how she's looking for a home and also gave an important reminder for certain dog owners.

Some breeds of dogs need some extra grooming care. Riley came in and she had matted hair everywhere, and super irritated skin underneath. Poor Riley!

Fortunately, Canal Bark did a great job grooming her. The results are stunning. It doesn't even look like the same dog.

Animal Allies urges dog owners to make sure they keep up with regular brushing and grooming appointments. For some dogs with thicker, curlier hair that may be more often than other dogs.

Riley is still a puppy at heart. She gets a little nervous around new people, but once she warms up to an owner she's a huge lap dog. They describe her still as a puppy at heart with lots of energy and she loves to play in the snow.

She needs to be the only pet in the home. She likes all the attention and it didn't work out previously with a home with another dog, so keep that in mind.

Riley is available for adoption at Animal Allies in Duluth, Minnesota. Her adoption fee is $350. The money goes to help with extensive costs associated with vetting and caring for Riley and other dogs and cats at the shelter. She's spayed, fully vaccinated, and microchipped. Let's help Riley find a home!
