Have the Kids Cook an Easy Breakfast With Taste of Home’s “Toad in a Hole”

Kids always want to help, especially in the kitchen.  Use their enthusiasm to help you with breakfast and you get the morning off!  Taste of Home has an easy, fun to make recipe for you to try, it's called Toad in a Hole.  Enjoy!

You probably have all the ingredients on hand.

• 1 slice of bread
• 1 teaspoon butter
• 1 egg
• Salt and pepper to taste

Here's the easy directions:

In the middle of the bread (white, wheat or whatever your choice is) cut about a  3-in. hole. Using a small skillet, melt the butter, then put the bread in the melted butter.  Crack the egg in the hole of your bread.  Cook for about 2 minutes over medium heat until the bread becomes browned.  Flip and cook the other side until egg yolk is almost set. Season to taste with salt and pepper. Repeat until full! :)
